About Me

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but living as an expat without extended family made things incredibly isolating. I often worried about being overprotective or overcompensating. Over time I realised that children learn so much more from who we are than from anything we try to teach them. Whether we are healing from the past or trying to stay steady through the present, our wellbeing is intertwined with theirs.

I wanted my boys to feel secure and emotionally supported so they could grow into confident, independent adults. That desire led me into a deep journey of self discovery and self directed education.

I became fascinated by the brain and the mind, studying neurodevelopment, psychology and applied neuroscience, and eventually beginning my degree in Childhood and Youth Studies. Living in many different countries gave me a wide range of cultural perspectives that shaped my approach to parenting. Somewhere along the way, I found that mindfulness was the grounding thread that brought everything together. It supported me through every transition and helped me become the parent and person I am today.

Alongside my work with parents, I’m also the founder of an outreach programme called Katie’s Readers.

Created in memory of Katie, it focuses on sharing stories, creativity, and meaningful connection with children who may not always have easy access to books or supportive learning environments. At its heart, it is about the quiet power of being seen, heard, and encouraged, values that sit at the core of all my work.

Now I want to share what I’ve learned with other expat mums. Raising Change Globally was created to bring the science of child development into the everyday art of parenting and to offer a gentle, grounded community that travels with you from country to country. My hope is to help you find more ease, more confidence and more balance as you raise your children across cultures and discover more about yourself along the way.

I would love to support you on your own journey of self discovery.
