Why I created it
When my children were young and we were living overseas, one of my biggest fears was, "What would happen to them if something happened to me?"
It's not something we like to think about, and for years I carried that worry without ever doing anything about it.
It wasn't until much later, after repatriating, going through an expat divorce and then a cancer diagnosis, that I realised just how vulnerable we'd been. I'd spent 15 years raising my children overseas without having these plans in place.
I created The Just in Case Document because I don't want other expat mums to carry that same uncertainty. My hope is that it helps you feel a little more prepared, a little more secure, and gives you and the people you love a little more peace of mind.
After all, it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
